NLC Terminal triples the size

The new goods station in Umeå occupies 5.8 hectares( 14.3 acres ); almost triple the size of the current terminal area. The track length will increase from1,200 metresto3,220 metres(1312 to3521 yards ).

About 31,000 TEU are handled in Umeå every year. With the construction of the Bothnia Line and the NLC Terminal, the volume is estimated to increase with at least 10 percent annually.

In connection with the terminal area, the municipality of Ume åis preparing for a new logistics site, NLC Park, aimed at companies in the logistics and transport-intensive business
