Umeå — an intermodal hub of wide scope

While constructing the Bothnia Line, put into service in 2010, enormous investments are made in new infrastructure in Umeå and the surrounding area.
A new goods station is under construction - the NLC Terminal - which will be part of the strategic combined terminal network. At the same time, preparations are underway for a new large logistical area called NLCPark, in direct connection with the combined terminal.

Moreover, significant investments are made in the PortofUmeå, in the two European highways converging in Umeå and also in the ring road around the city, access roads etc.
 
All in all, this strengthens Umeå´s position as an intermodal hub in the Nordic transport system even more. Umeå will become theNordicLogisticCenterwith the entireNorthern Scandinaviaas its target area.
