Favourable location
The portofUmeå is situated where the two European highways meet, E4 running north-south, and E12 running east-west. The location at the north end of the Bothnia Line is reinforcing the intermodal connections still more.

Umeå is called at more than any other port in northern Sweden , and frequent transport services are offered to and from continenta lEurope .

Good winter harbour
Umeå is the northernmost port in Sweden where ice causes no major problem in the winter. This is one of the reasons why many companies north of Umeå prefer to ship their products from here.

 
Plenty of space
The port of Umeå has disposal of a vast area (92 hectares/227 acres) and the conditions are good for further expansion.
