The port of Umeå — logistics hub with great terminal capacities
It´s not only about unloading and loading ships. The port of Umeå is also an important terminal point in a larger transport system.
The port terminal handles 300,000-400,000 tons of goods every year, of which a large portion is containerised. One of the tasks is to handle goods coming in by road/railway and leaving by road/railway. The port handles 120-150 railway carriages every day.
The port of Umeå also holds third-party logistics and a refinement business. Some 20 companies are set up here.  |
